    (i) 1939-45 Star. (ii) Africa Star. (iii) Pacific Star. (iv) War Medal 1939-45. (v) New Zealand War Service Medal 1939-45. (vi) King George VI Coronation Medal 1937. Supplement to NZ Gazette, 28 May 1937, page 1275 (as Able Seaman HMS Leander). (vii) Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, George VI, 1st type non-swivel suspender, (G E Pearce A B NZ1060 HMNZS Philomel), named in engraved capitals. Medal issued 12 May 1937.

  • Notes:
    Pearce was born on 6 May 1910 at Bridgend, Glamorgan. A gardener, he volunteered to join the Royal Navy on 10 September 1925. He signed on for a second engagement on 6 May 1928 and served with the New Zealand Division of the RN from 2 June 1930-5 May 1940 when he was re-engaged for service during the Second World War. Discharged 21 September 1945. With service record.
