    Unusual group of 5 to Leading Signalman Reginald P V Hayter, BEM, RN, NZ Division RN and RNZN.
    (i) British Empire Medal, military division, (BEM) (Ldg Sglmn Reginald P V Hayter, NZD 1193). (ii) British War Medal 1914-18 (J92105 R P V Hayter, Boy 2 RN). (iii) War Medal 1939-45. (iv) New Zealand War Service Medal 1939-45. (v) Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, George VI (1st type head) (R P V Hayter, L/Stg NZ1193 HMS Philomel). With copy of service and research notes.

  • Notes:
    Reginald Percy Hayter was born in 1903 and joined the RN in 1921 aged 18. Served with RN until 1930 when he joined the NZ Division of the RN and was discharged on 31 May 1945. BEM, London Gazette, 1 January 1946, page 163 ( NZ list).
