  1967 PEUGEOT 404 CABRIOLET
  Chassis Number: 6801867. Engine Number: 12505.
• Notes:
  The Pininfarina designed Peugeot 404 was first shown at the Paris Motor Show in October 1961 and remained in production until 1968. The involvement of Pininfarina extended well beyond the provision of a design however, with the convertible being produced at their Turin plant via supplied body shells. The 1618cc engine, Kugelfischer injection and a 4-speed column gear change, made this Peugeot a highly sought deluxe vehicle and indeed, in the United States its price was the same as that of an E-Type Jaguar. Through its production cycle a total of 7,375 were built. This example for auction was first registered in New Zealand in June 1991. A factory right hand drive built for the UK market, it is believed to be one of two of its kind in the country. The car is beautifully presented with new and correct carpet as well as a new hood fitted along with fettled seating. It comes with a tonneau and the correct jack. The Blanc Arosa paint is believed to be “as it left the factory”. This attractive cabriolet is considered by many as a beautiful car and this rare example is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.
