    to Germany at the 11d rate with Laureates 1d 2d & 4d pair tied by Melbourne duplex of JA26/65, London transit cds of MR23/65 & 'PD'-in circ le h/s both in red, 'HAMBURG'-in-oval arrival b/s, attractive. Not listed in Ben Palmer's Census.
  • Notes:
    German Baron Ferdinand von Mueller was appointed Government Botanist in 1853. In that role he regularly corresponded with & exchanged seeds with botanic gardens around the world. He was a Commissioner for the 1866 Melbourne Exhibition.
