  Westmacott, Captain Robert Marsh. No. 1 [-3]. Sketches in Australia From Drawings By Captn. R. M. Westmacott
  Late 4th. King’s Own Regt. Drawn on stone by W. Spreat. Price to subscribers ten shillings [wrapper title]. Three original parts, royal quarto, comprising 18 tinted lithographed plates in total, each with a leaf of descriptive text, in the original parts titling-wrappers, preserved in a quarter calf bookform box. [Exeter, Printed at W. Spreat’s Lithographic Establishment, circa 1848].
• Notes:
  A rare set of fine New South Wales views, depicting Sydney and the harbour, the Blue Mountains, the Illawarra district, and Aboriginal groups. Captain Robert Marsh Westmacott, son of an eminent British sculptor, was aide-de-camp to Governor Richard Bourke at Cape Town, accompanying him to New South Wales in 1832. He remained as Bourke’s aide-de-camp until 1837 when he resigned from the army and settled in the Illawarra district. After some unsuccessful business ventures, Westmacott returned to England with his family in the late 1840s publishing this set of eighteen fine tinted lithographed views of New South Wales in Exeter in about 1848.
