  (i) War Medal 1939-45. (ii) New Zealand War Service Medal 1939-45. With 1988 newspaper extract and personal letter to J A L Gibson.
• Provenance:
  Gift from recipient.
• Notes:
  Hilda Gray was one of the first Wrens in NZ with the official number 20. She joined in 1942 and served as a telegraphist in Wellington and Picton. Later active in the Shackleton Sea Scouts and in 1988 elected to the executive of the Whangarei Branch Ex-Royal Navalmen's Association. Her daughter became a Wren. Worked for a firm of solicitors in Wellington, with J A L Gibson.
