    Paul Bracq was born in Bordeaux in 1933 and trained at art school in Paris before working for industrial designer Philippe Cherbonneaux. He subsequently joined Mercedes-Benz and in 1963 his first creation, Model number W113, the Mercedes-Benz 230SL was launched. Unfussy and elegant this not insubstantial car, weighing 1,295kg, had however a feeling of lightness and sportiness as befitted its SuperLeicht badge. The signature 'Pagoda' roof of the hard top, whilst one of its key aesthetic elements was in fact a safety feature. This superb example of a 1964 Mercedes-Benz 230SL has been fully restored by an authorised Mercedes-Benz main service and dealership being the personal property of the Dealer principle's family. It is of course fitted with both soft and hard tops and presents in absolutely stunning condition throughout having had little usage since the recent completion of the comprehensive and highly detailed restoration. The car is correct throughout with one concession to modern usage being the replacement of the original gearbox which accompanies the vehicle with a Toyota five speed gearbox.
