  AR854555 is a 1965 factory built RHD series 2 car still sporting its original paint (except for the doors) and interior leather. Delivered new to Australia the car is unique as it was one of only two Australian delivered cars ordered with the expensive and desirable Borrani wire wheel option - including the spare. Additionally, this car came fitted with disc brakes, police air horns and a shortwave radio suggesting the car may have been intended for other duties. Featured on the front cover of the March 1989 Australian Sports and Classic magazine (a copy comes with the car), the vendor has known this car for the last 24 years. It is very original and has not been messed with. The vendor, an Alfa club member and owner of several 2600 Sprints over the last 10 years, states that the car is in very sound mechanical condition and has an excellent steering box. The latter being the recognised Achilles heel for the model. On return from a stint in New Zealand, a number of mechanical restorative works took place in 2012 to ensure the 2600 was reliable, safe and performed as it should. All work was undertaken by marque specialists Maranello Pur-Sang in Brunswick. Additionally, the car was freshly serviced in September 2013. The original worn carpets were replaced by the correct pig bristle type and colour sourced from the UK in 2013. The car is an excellent GT to drive and now becoming quite rare and collectable as most European examples have rusted badly. This example has no rust and is a very original car with rare handbooks included. An eye catching car, this 2600 Sprint featured on Masterchef in July 2013.
