  Milagros are religious folk charms that are traditionally used for healing purposes and as votive offerings in Mexico, the southern United States, other areas of Latin America, and parts of the Iberian Peninsula.

• Notes:
  Milagros are charms used for requests, for protection, and as a source of good luck. The word Milagro in Spanish means 'miracle' and people in the past and present use them as symbols to wish others good luck, good health, and hope for the future. In Mexico, the use of Milagros is connected with an institution known as the manda. This where a person will ask a favour a saint, and then, in order to repay the saint after the favour has been granted, one must make a pilgrimage to the shrine of that saint, and take a Milagro and leave it there.
