Description:DONINGTON AUCTION'S INTRODUCTION:
Kevin Driscoll enjoyed a lifelong love of motor vehicles with a motorbike being an early object of his enthusiasm. However his strict father was soon to be horrified when Kevin took up racing an FX Holden, especially when he rolled it at speed at Phillip Island.
Kevin worked for Bob Jane for a number of years in the late 1950s/early 1960s maintaining and preparing his Maserati 300S Ex-Stirling Moss (chassis # 3059). Kevin specialised in body repair and painting, and cars were always finished to the highest standard. Norm Beechey told Donington’s “Kevin was a perfectionist, often spending hundreds of hours prepared the 300S between racers and Bob would take it out and bring back with dents and scratches from competitive racing but Kevin would happily start again”.
While Kevin loved racing with mates, including Bob Jane & Norm Beechey, supporting a young family was naturally Kevin’s priority , so the motor racing activities had to be suspended.
Kevin went on to work for TAA spray painting airplanes before working for Peter Brock at Holden Dealer Team. He was also heavily involved in the production of the 500 VL SS Group A Commodores.
Kevin later meticulously restored a 1928 A Model Ford. He enjoyed traveling to the US where he made friends with local enthusiasts, visited club meetings and events , and along the way filled his suitcase with all kinds of parts & memorabilia. A true enthusiast!
With his wife, Margaret, they were able to enjoy various trips with the A Model Ford Club. Kevin moved into 1960s Mustangs, and also restored a number of other cars, and at the time of his passing at the age of 91, he still retained both a 1965 and a 1967 Ford Mustang, offered in this auction.
Kevin’s estate also included a varied collection of memorabilia such as number plates, posters, books, and garage signs.

This is a timed online auction with Lot 1 closing at 1.59pm on Sunday 20th November 2022, and subsequent lots at 1 minute intervals, with the last lot concluding at 8.10pm.
