Special Sale - The Jackson Estate Contents

  • Auction House:
  • Reference:
    #1408
  • Description:
    The Estate of Patricia Jackson

Decades in the making. A unique opportunity to share in the taste of a stylish Melbourne socialite. Her passion emulates from all aspects of her assembled art and antiques.

Her collection includes: Chinese, European & English ceramics, bronzes, ivories, objects d’art & fine furniture from around the world.

The late Patricia Jackson was not only most attractive and charming, but also emanated style and personality, which was reflected both in the décor of her art deco residence and her extensive collection.

For more than fifty years Pat Jackson and her late husband Gordon Jackson enjoyed a lifestyle of gracious living in their St Georges Road Residence, which they filled with precious objects & art.

For many years Pat Jackson was the President of the Victorian Women’s Committee, which raised huge sums for the restoration of historic buildings in Venice. Her beautiful art deco residence was the venue for many of these functions and the Jacksons were renowned for their generous hospitality.

However Pat Jacksons’s primary interest was collecting paintings, antique furniture, porcelain, silver and glass and anything with an oriental flavour was irresistible to her. Gordon Jackson's passion was Australian Ceramics and his collection was given to the Geelong Art Gallery in appreciation of his family’s long association with the City of Geelong through the Jackson Tanneries.

Pat Jackson’s taste was nothing short of eclectic, which is reflected in her collection and is now to be enjoyed by others.
