Lot Description:1906 Steam Motor Coach No 1 known as the “Coffee Pot” (NJAB1)
a combined steam locomotive and passenger coach on a single rigid frame (165x37x50), the locomotive unit built by Kitson & Co (Leeds, England) and the coach manufactured by Metropolitan Amalgamated Railway Carriage Co (Birmingham, England), supplied to SAR to provide a passenger service on light-traffic rural routes and was put into service at Quorn for a regular weekly service to Hawker. -
Notes:[The “Coffee Pot” was acquired by the Pichi-Pichi Railway in 1975, entering service in 1984 and is usually made available for special events held on the railway line.]
