(245x36x60mm) operating between 1954 and 1972 carrying both passenger and goods traffic, built at the Vulcan Foundry (Lancashire, England), black livery, 2-8-0 wheel configuration, with rolling stock comprising Type BW & Type AP passenger carriages, total size 715x36x60mm. (4 items) -
Notes:[A total of 50 J Class locomotives were ordered from the Vulcan Foundry, which was increased to 60 when VR opted to sell ten of its brand-new second generation N Class locomotives to South Australian Railways, the order being split 50/50 between coal burning and oil burning engines.]
