  A silver presentation plaque
  with applied gold cartouche at top centre and engraved “Al Lord Mayor de Melbourne / Cr. Bernard Evans / la Camera di Commercio Industria e Agricoltura di Vicenza / 13 Settembre 1960” (the Vicenza Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture). Accompanied by a photograph of Brigadier Sir Bernard Evans, DSO, in his army uniform; also, his personalized City of Melbourne Hand Book for 1964-65, with many hand-written entries. (3 items).
  The plaque, 20 x 29.5cm (weight 570gms).
• Notes:
  Sir Bernard Evans (1905 - 1988) was Lord Mayor of Melbourne (1959-61). He was part of the campaign for the creation of a public square in the central city, and was an advocate in the early 60s for the site that was eventually chosen in 1966, and which became the City Square.
