    A Burmese Gilt & Lacquer Peacock Throne, the Elaborately Carved in Teak has Influences from British India, 20th Century
    the high back has a central peacock with the train fully fanned, the arms with scroll ends & spindles, the front legs turned with a ball, a shaped apron, the solid seat below a plain panel.

    Teak is native to Myanmar & the peafowl is one of the national animals of Myanmar. The dancing peacock was a motif of the Burmese monarch & symbolises dignity & beauty.
