• Notes:
  Hailing from the Netherlands, Henk Guth travelled and worked globally, settling in Alice Springs Australia in 1960 where be opened a gallery specialising in Aboriginal art alongside exhibitions of his own work, so inspired by the Australian landscape. Known for his panoramas and scenes, Guth's almost performative works engulf the viewer. Guth has historically produced works on a large scale. Tragically a fire on 2005 destroyed much of his oeuvre; Lugosi auctioneers is proud to present this work of small yet powerful stature that looks at the Australian outback doused in a magenta sunset. Heavily impastoed and skillful, this work is well preserved and is quintessential of this well respected artist.
