Antiques & Interiors & Peppergreen Part IV
  • Sale Date:

  • Lot #:
    1161
  • Lot Description:
A dusty pink mid to late 19th Century pinstriped dress
comprising of a long sleeved jacket bodice, a pleated skirt and over peplum, with brown velvet trim and brown coloured buttons to bodice with multi style lace collar. This dress presents some mystery as the outer parts of the dress show no signs of wear yet the inside of the bodice is roughly sewn and worn, the peplum looks to have a later added lining and the skirt waistband appears to have been added later out of the same fabric as the peplum lining. The waistband and peplum are much bigger in size to bodice. Skirt needs repleating to give skirt a bustle back - pleats in front of skirt have been stitched down in wrong direction (3)
