  faint original manufacture date 1825, fitted with later originally a flint lock, later converted with an 1839 percussion cap lock, manufacturer stamped to left side of barrel flat "S.M.Co" (Springfield Manufacturing Company), various other stamped insignia incl. eagle head etc., proof mark P, various other armoury and US army stamps throughout, fitted with full wood stock, comes with a metal ramrod, barrel length 42 1/8 inches (107cm), overall length 57 1/2 inches (146cm), caliber: .67 percussion, by repute confiscated by General Stonewall Jacksons confederate forces during battles fought in Maryland
