Notes:An Irishman who spent time in Tasmania on a posting to Australia with the British Army, Stoney purchased land at Wyvenhoe, near Burnie in northeast Tasmania. He was a draftsman and artist whose own sketches were adapted to illustrate the book he wrote about his experiences.
