Notes:

Captain Griffiths rose to notoriety in July 1877 when the crew onboard his vessel "The ONWARD" mutinied. He restored order by locking them in the forecastle and shooting one of them dead. Upon arrival at Hobart he was charged but later acquitted by the jury.
