  • Notes:
In the post war era, the Norton Model 18 was the first pushrod Norton to go back into production. By 1947, this model gained Norton’s famous Roadholder front forks and met the burgeoning market demands very well as a good solid sporting single. The Model 18 was a good and consistent product for Norton with a purported top speed of 78mph. It was produced from 1922 until 1954 spanning 32 years. This example is believed to be Australian delivered and was found intact by the current owner in the mid north of South Australia while fossicking on farms and garden sheds for interesting classics. It has undergone a partial restoration including the engine being rebuilt, in addition to considerable mechanical work attended to some years ago. The gauges have been restored in the UK and accompany the bike ready for installation along with new clutch and brake cables. The fuel tank, although structurally sound, is crusty looking on the inside with rusty fuel deposits and varnish. It will need cleaning and or re sealing before use. This genuine Model 18 500 single presents an excellent project opportunity that may only require some mechanical expertise and re assembly to put on the road. This motorcycle will be sold unregistered.
