Lot Description:A Giant Clamshell Ring, "Yua"
a large YUA, with perfect circular centre, decorated with fine and carefully graded nassa shells, woven onto a fibre band. This YUA also has the cut designs on one edge, sometimes interpreted as the hornbill beak. These are used as currency and are very valuable; particularly important in bride price transactions.
