    Amy Johnson’s Air-helmet
    A leather air-helmet, approx 22 x 25cm when flat, as used by the aviatrix Amy Johnson in 1930, and given to George Burns, the caretaker of Mascot airport following Johnson’s record flight. The Dept of Civil Aviation gave George Burns the propeller from the last Gypsy Moth (sold Aalders November 2010), and noted his involvement on the propeller thus “Commenced Mascot 1928 - 1928: Kingsford Smith, Ulm, Lyons, Warner, Hinkler; 1930 Amy Johnson; ..”
