Lot Description:A pair of Anglo-Indian hardwood bergères with footstools, late 19th century
each with arching concave back extending to form the arms terminating in tiger heads, intricately carved overall with openwork scrolling foliate stems interspersed with various birds and a crocodile to either side, the shaped open seat supported on four splayed legs, the front legs carved with deer heads above the scroll feet, joined by shaped openwork foliate scroll aprons, the oval footstools en suite, fitted cushions
the chairs 89.5 cm high, 77 cm wide, 77 cm deep; the stools 17.5 cm high, 31 cm wide -
