    A Belle Epoque Cameo Brooch 
    Comprising a large conch shell oval central cameo. Finely carved depicting a pair of classical figures embracing. With on looking cherubs and hound. Surrounded by a border of small natural pearls. The base in a double scroll set with four old brilliant cut diamonds and forty six rose cut diamonds. Total diamond weight: 0.65cts. 15 carat gold frame. Circa 1905. Boxed. 
  • Notes:
    Condition: Brooch presents in very good condition. Pearls are well matched and secure. Shell shows a difference of colour towards the top which is inherent to the nature of the piece of shell. A small stress crack is below the surface but only visible under magnification. DIamonds are well matched. One rose cut diamond is chipped. Diamond colour G-I, clarity SI. The reverse is completely backed in gold and has a loop fitting so it can be worn as a pendant. Total weight 23.6gms.
