    An Inuit serpentine carving
    of a hunter in a kayak with seals on the deck, with bone paddle, harpoon and gaff. Length 300.
  • Provenance:
    Gifted to a doctor practicing between 1954-58 at the Mountain Sanatorium, an isolation hospital for tuberculosis at Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Inuit patients gathered serpentine from rivers within the hospital grounds as material for these carvings which were gifted in appreciation.
