    1879 8vo notelet headed '[Arms]/General Post Office/Sydney' in red dated "13th September 1879"
    four days before the post office opened - being a request for passes to be issued to the postmaster & his staff at the Garden Palace post office, with note in red on the reverse "Give three passes...must permit the holder to go in and out at pleasure. The post boy being in Uniform can pass without ticket but all must go through free turnstiles" & signed "Augustus Morris". These 2 notes substantiate the research of Campbell and Peck as to the location and opening date of the Garden Palace Post Office.
