A pair of early 20thC small painted paddles with scenes of The Pink and White Terraces
similar to above, fully inscribed to the shafts 'The Pink Terrace, Rotomahana. Destroyed by eruption June 10. 1886'. The reverse further inscribed 'Paddle made out of a bit of the Old Melanesian Mission Schooner 'Southern Cross'É', further detailed in Maori and with the dates 1874-1891 and with the names 'Pattison + Selwyn.
