[wrapper title]Quarto, 24 tinted lithographed plates; in the original lithographed titling-wrapper, decorated in close facsimile of the Melbourne edition with vignettes of goldfields life, with advertisements on the versos, the plain spine gone, preserved in a quarter morocco box. London, H.H. Collins & Co. and Piper Brothers & Co., 1853.
• Notes:
  The London edition of Gill’s first substantial goldfields view book published in Melbourne in 1852. The plates in this London edition are much larger than the original Melbourne plates and are printed as tinted lithographs on a cream ground. Only this first part was published in a London edition.
