  Ouvrage traduit de l’Anglois de M. Dalrymple, par M. de Fréville. Octavo, with three folding maps, complete with half-title and Privilège leaf, bound in French calf of the period, spine fully gilt (top of the spine with an expert repair), all edges red. Paris, Saillant & Nyon, 1774.
• Notes:
  First French edition of Dalrymple’s Historical Collection of the Several Voyages and Discoveries in the South Pacific Ocean. The work also includes a translation of Dalrymple’s 1773 Letter from Mr. Dalrymple to Dr. Hawkesworth. The translation and introduction are by Anne François Joachim de Fréville, who translated the official accounts of Cook’s first two voyages and whose important Histoire des Nouvelles Découvertes faites dans la Mer du Sud was published in the same year.
