Lot Description:AUTO CYCLE UNION: An interesting 1920s-1930s two piece leather motorcycle outfit and a pair of boots worn by Victorian pre-war racer Anthony Christian
With accompanying original Auto Cycle Union of Australia 'Licence for a driver' for Mr. A. Tie valid till 30th June, 1936 and together with a reproduction of period photo featuring Tie (second from right) and a copy of article featuring A. Tie winning the second heat of the Autodrome two-laps handicap from V. Kay at Richmond. Tie went on to become a Flight Sergeant in the RAAF and post-war an accomplished clay target shooter who represented Australia in the International Trap Team in 1953, 1957, 1958, 1963 & 1964. -
