  • Notes:
The Austin 7 is a most iconic popular British motor car. Highly influential at the time it was built between 1922 and 1939 and appeared in a variety of differing body shapes but in essence remained unchanged mechanically throughout its years of production between the two World Wars. It provided economical and reliable motoring for the ordinary motorist and was built in large numbers with some 300,000 in total manufactured. Of simple yet durable construction the Austin 7 was fitted with a small four-cylinder engine with a removable head for maintenance accessibility. It was fitted with four-wheel brakes for safety at a time when much larger cars including Rolls-Royce still only provided rear-wheel braking. 747.5 cc removable-head inline four-cylinder engine, three-speed manual transmission with reverse, rigid front axle with transverse leaf spring suspension and friction damper, semi-rigid cantilevered rear axle with friction dampers, and four-wheel drum brakes. Offered here is a nicely presented Austin 7 saloon finished in maroon and black with red interior. In current ownership for many years.
