Lot Description:A George IV Scottish silver soup ladle
fiddle pattern, the handle engraved with the crest of the Brodie Clan: a dexter hand raised holding a sheath of three arrows beneath the motto ‘Unite’. Edinburgh 1826 by David Hodges. 190gms. (See lot 313). -

Francis Brodie, born Scotland, served with the 71st (Highland) Light Infantry (Lieut.), died at his home at Lake St John, Remuera,1916, Auckland Town Clerk 1870s, an awardee of 400 acres under the Military Settlers Act 1889.
