  A quality 19thC French brass cased carriage clock
  bevelled glass panels to all sides including curved side panels, the white enamel dial with Arabic numerals highlighted with gilt including butterfly and swans amongst reeds, the top with swing handle and presentation engraved ‘Miss E.J. Cann on her Departure for N.Z. With Best Wishes from Mr and Mrs Jonathan Davies. Corwen 1909’, working order, complete with leather travel case. Miss E.J. Cann is recorded in ‘Papers Past’ as one of the ‘Passengers For N.Z. 21 December 1909’, another record has Miss Cann recorded for ‘Best Exhibit Cotton Crochet, not more than four pieces, Irish crochet excluded’, again in ‘Papers Past’, ‘The Show. Fielding Star, Volume VI, Issue 1637, 1 November 1911, Page 4’.
