• Notes:
  Considerable wear and cracking to spines. v. 2 lacking spine. Rubbing and spotting to boards. Previous owners inscriptions to front free endpaper of v. 1. Inscription by the author to fly leaf: 'Samuel h. Hirsh Esq, with the best wishes of the author. Walter Buller. Jul 10 1891.' Foxing to contents and to the margins of several plates. Some lacking tissue guards. Damage with repairs to p. 163-5 of v. 1. Binding weak on v. 2. Unique copies. AF/FA. [2].
