  • Lot Description:
    A Rare Pair of Hongmu Armchairs
    without projecting members nanguanmaoyi. Qing Dynasty mid 19th Century The armchairs, each with humpbacked toprail, supported on slightly bent corner posts extending to the back legs, above a rectangular frame with hard seat, the S-curved backsplat with a carved character panel, the curved armrests supported by a square shaped uprights, the square-section legs joined by continuous aprons and stepped stretchers. The rigid angular structure & the grand proportions giving an air of formality.
