Born 7 August 1898 at Dalton-in-Furness, Lancashire, England, died 9 December 1976 at The Chase, Perry Green, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire. Australia 1920-1937. Married Ella Moody on 4 April 1931. MAEL is a combination of Michael O'Connell and his first wife's name Ella Moody. When in Australia Michael O'Connell was involved in an interior design and decorating business in partnership with Cynthia Reed and Frederick Ward
