Lot Description:A good Chinese jade carving
probably mid-Qing dynasty in the manner of an archaic dynastic burial jade, modelled as a bird shaped vessel, its ovoid body hollowed and with an aperture to the top, (once with cover now absent); the head, body and legs with incised and low relief detail of feathers and wings along with decorative elements including a taotie mask to the breast and various scrolls and cloud motifs to the body. Width 200, height 145. -
