  w/3c '22 Years', '30 Years' and '38 Years' (all engraved) (No 644 Serg Edwin Eales, NZP 1907). Clasps awarded 1919, 1923 and 1931. Recorded by Wills (1990) as a type 4 by G T White. With research notes.
• Notes:
  Edwin Eales was born in 1870 and joined the Police in 1893; promoted sergeant 1915 and rose to Superintendent in 1927; officer-in-charge of Christchurch 1927-1931 when he retired.
