(v) New Zealand War Service Medal 1939-45. (vi) Efficiency Decoration, New Zealand (ED), GRI cypher (T/Lt.Col C A Herman, NZTS). Approximately 501 issued. (vii) New Zealand Territorial Service Medal, King George V (Mjr C A Herman, 3rd (Auck R.) CRO (1920) 736 issued. (viii) New Zealand Long and Efficient Service Medal (Lt. Col C A Herman, NZTS), type 3, roll confirms late issue 15 August 1941. With brief notes.

  Herman was gazetted a Major 26 May 1919 in the 3rd Auckland Regiment. He was acting Provost Marshall NZEF; Acting Adjutant-General 1942. Mentioned in Despatches London Gazette 8 July 1918 (in Sir Douglas Haig's despatch of 16 March 1919.
