Lot Description:New Zealand Medal, reverse dated 1863 to 1864.
(T Snudden AB HMS Harrier), impressed naming. Entitlement of Able Seaman Thomas Snudden confirmed by Longley (RN & RM) who records 10 officers and 60 ratings together with 10 NCOs and men of Royal Marines of Harrier; total of 80 received this medal; BBM 79 medals. Recorded by Douglas Morris (NM). Parties of Harrier's crew took part in actions at Paparoa in August 1863, Te Awamutu and Rangiawhia in February 1864 and at Gate Pa, Tauranga, in April 1864. -
