  • Notes:
This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Warmun Art Centre which states: 'Galawajelduburungarri is a spring on the Fitzroy River that was made by the crested pigeon in the Dreamtime. In the Dreamtime Galawajil, the crested pigeon was looking around for water. She couldn't find any, so she hit the limestone and water busted out. This place is called Galawajelduburungarri which means "Where the crested pigeon busted (the water)" in Gija. In English it is called Limestone Springs. Galawajelduburungarri is on the Fitzroy River, upstream from the Hann River junction near Evergreen Yard. Mick Jawalji looked at this place when he was walking around and saw lots of water there. The circular shapes on the left and the right of the painting represent the limestone that the crested pigeon hit and where the water burst out. The diagonal lines and the diamond shape in the middle are decoration.'
