Notes:This work is accompanied by a copy of a certificate of authenticity from Short Street Gallery which states: 'Japingka is the main Jila (living water) for my country. That's my father's country and my grandfather's country. Kalpurtu live in the waterhole when they smell strangers coming, they stand up, outside. People light a fire from a long way. If the smoke goes straight to the waterhole people know the Kalpurtu are standing up, then one old man, runs fast to the Jila. He sings out the name "Japingka wawla! We're coming! Get Down Please! We want to get water". Then the Kalpurtu goes down and people thank him.'
