  Standing wearing a pleated dhoti and a cape over the shoulders, draped in long necklaces and beaded chains drawn through a central ring at the waist, the stone with a dark patina, tiny traces of red pigment, probably from Shanxi province
  80cm high, mounted on a metal base

  Melbourne private collection; acquired by a Professor of Art History in Italy and brought to Melbourne in the early 1970's, and passed on by descent to the current owner
