  • Notes:
    Joseph Loy Was An Italian-Born Port Painter Who Worked In The Mediterranean Around Gibraltar Between 1865 And 1867, Before Moving To Trieste Thereafter. His Works, Painted In A Style Similar To That Of Other Local Artists, Such As Basi Ivancovich, Were Direct Dockside Commissions For Captains And Owners Of The Boats That Sailed Throughout The Mediterranean, Many Of Which Were Involved In The Fruit Trade. Other Works By Loy Are In The Peabody Essex Museum, Massachusetts.
