Lot Description:An antique hand knotted Persian Meshed carpet
close cropped wool pile on cotton weft and warp decorated with a large central medallion framed by foliate arabesques on a soft salmon ground, the medallion pattern repeated in the quadrant, the decoration principally in pale blue, turquoise, ivory and light caramel colours; all framed by a broad border decorated with lotus flowers, foliate tendrils and palmette medallions on a cobalt ground flanked by narrower borders of floral meander design. Some wear. 3800 x 2860. -
