Written around the experiences of John Rutherford, 'the white chief' who, after shipwrecked on the East Coast of the North Island, was adopted by a Maori tribe, tattooed, given wives and rank. Originally published in 2 v. earlier in 1830. Part of 'The Library of entertaining knowledge' series. A nice copy of this scarce work. G.
