• Notes:
  Liu Chunhai was born in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, in the North-Eastern China. In 1991 he graduated from the Art College of Harbin Normal University (engraving department). He worked as a teacher and engraver for nine years. In 2001 he experimented with oil painting and explored subjects related to the Cultural Revolution, through the young women soldiers, to show their true identity. He lives and works in Beijing.
