  Anonymous - A Japanese gilt and polychrome painted six-panel screen, 19th century
  depicting a scene of a maiden with female attendants gathered on a pavilion terrace whilst another group of Chinese female musicians approach from beneath a pine tree to one side, all within gold cloud formations

• Notes:
  This six panel screen (currently wall mounted) has heavy discoloration, staining, and scattered spotting throughout consistent with age. There are sporadic area sof paper distress and loss, scattered 'pin holes' to the joins of the panels in particular, and there is evidence of paper lifting, perforations and some small areas of moth damage. The condition of this work is very visible in the online image. This screen is in fair condition. The 19th century date has been presented by two experts but a closer approximation of age cannot be provided.
