Notes:Views of the Hawkesbury River were a major theme in Percy's paintings from the mid-1920s. His first Hawkesbury landscapes were exhibited at his May 1926 exhibition at the Macquarie Galleries, and he continued to paint the river up to 1951, often in the company of watercolourist friend John Maund. Percy painted at many different spots along the river, with favourite painting camps at Pittwater, Brooklyn, Central MacDonald, Wiseman's Ferry, Lower Portland, Sackville and Windsor.
